About “Redwood Trading Ltd”
The company “Redwood Trading Ltd” (ООО «Рэдвуд Трэйдинг») specializes in the field of production and export of Russian Redwood (Pinus Sylvestris/ Pine) and realizes its activity since 2002. The company office is situated in Cherepovets of Vologda Oblast. As a result to activity in 2003, “Redwood Trading Ltd” became one of five leading companies of Vologda Oblast on the volume of exported redwood sawn timber.

According to statistics, the share of “Redwood Trading Ltd” amongst companies of the Russian Federation, exporting redwood sawn timber to Poland, on total 2003 has formed 12 %.

Our main production facility is a saw-mill in Babayevo of Vologda Oblast, equipped with band and circular saws. We constantly supply pine sawn timber boards of fresh and transportation humidity (kiln-dried) to European countries from seven regions of Vologda Oblast and from other areas of the Russian Federation, linking Russian manufacturers of sawn timber to European customers.

Our saw-mill
The saw-mill in Babayevo was founded in May 2003. After 9 months of functioning it has enlarged its capacities on fresh sawn timber production to 500 cubic meters per month. Basis of our saw-mill - two band saws and one circular saw, work on which is conducted round the clock. Process of pine sawing consists of two basic stages: manufacture of not edging boards on band saws and cutting of their edges on a circular saw.

Our partners

Our partners are the saw-mills in Vologda Oblast, the large international trading companies, manufacturers of furniture and furniture boards and the European building companies. Basically we work with pine sawn timber (Redwood/ Pinus Sylvestris), but we take into account a great demand in the Western Europe on spruce boards (Whitewood/ Picea Abies), and also a plenty of the Russian manufacturers, preferring to work with whitewood timber.
The basic commodity market of our sawn timber - Poland where are a number of factories on manufacture of gluelam boards and furniture of the known German companies. We plan to increase the geography of our supplies and adjust contacts with new European customers.

Our offer

Our IDEA is to make sawn timber business directly from the Russian manufacturer to European customer (a manufacturer or a big trader) without chains of many small traders and re-traders.
We think that every Russian manufacturer of sawn timber must sell his real quality sawn timber under the highest possible price and every European customer could afford this price.
As a rule, dispatch is performed by motor transport of our constant carriers subject to conditions FCA and EXW (according to „Incoterms-2000") from any settlement of the Central part and Northwest Russian Federation.
Payment for shipped sawn timber should be manufactured within 5 bank days on the fact of dispatch of each consignment (28-30 cubic meters for natural humidity and 40-42 cubic meters for KD). In case of deliveries under export contracts, the routine scheme of payment - 70 % on the fact of dispatch, 30 % on the fact of acceptance at the European customers factories and warehouses.
Quality evaluation of boards can be performed both on saw-mills of supply contractors, and at factories of the European consumers. But, as a rule, acceptance of sawn timber is performed at-sight dispatches EXW or FCA by the experts. To each supply contractor and European customer - an individual approach concerning conditions of acceptance and payment.

Main specification

Redwood sawn timber, fresh (or impregnated by „Sinesto B“ in summer) and kiln-dried (humidity 18-20%).
Invoice dimensions: 50 х 100/ 125/ 150/ 175 mm, length 3.0 – 6.0 m (gradation 0.3 m).
Sawing dimensions: 53 х 105/ 130/ 155/ 180 mm, length 3.05 – 6.05 m (gradation 0.3 m).
Thickness and width tolerance: +3/ -0 mm, length tolerances: +100/ -0 mm.
Quality requirements are according to Russian Standards GOST 26002-83 (grades 1-4) and GOST 8486-86 (grades 0-3).
Not permitted: blue sapwood, wane, resin, cracks, rot, bark, insect and mechanical damages.
Knots intergrown, healthy round and oval, spike and branched (on 1 linear meter): diameter up to 25 mm does not take into account, 3 face knots (up to 35 mm - 2 pieces, up to 50 mm - 1 piece) and 1 edge knot up to 30 mm are supposed. Knots partially intergrown, unsound, rotten and black (on 1 linear meter): diameter up to 10 mm does not take into account, 1 face knot up to 30 mm and 1 edge knot up to 20 mm are supposed.
At daily average temperature higher than 5-10^oC (as a rule, from March, 1 till October, 31) pine lumber should be processed by “Sinesto B” (Finland) or kiln-dried to transport humidity (18-20%).
Sawn timber is delivered in transport packages which contain boards of one thickness, width and length in one package. The width and height of a transport package are 1.0-1.1 to 1.0-1.1 m. As a rule, half-packages and quarter-packages are supposed. Sawn timber boards are stacked on linings through each six - ten rows of boards. Transport packages are established on subbottom boards with 70-75 mm width.
